A Pocket Field Recorder
One of the Sony PCM-A10's main practical advantages is its extremely compact size. It can be carried in a pocket or a small bag and used to capture everyday environments without bringing a complete field-recording setup.

- Châtelet–Les Halles — interior ambience recorded inside the Châtelet–Les Halles shopping centre in Paris.
- Paris park — outdoor park ambience recorded around the Châtelet–Les Halles area.
What Does The PCM-A10 Sound Like?
All 10 recordings were captured directly with the Sony PCM-A10's built-in stereo microphones. Because the recordings cover indoor spaces, public transport and outdoor ambiences, they provide several examples of how the recorder behaves in real-world situations.
