Cantal Countryside

This sound collection was recorded in the central region of France during the summer. Renowned for its agricultural lands and livestock, this area is far removed from urban activity, allowing nature to flourish with beautiful mountains and plateaus inhabited by hundreds of cows, their bells resonating in the valleys. The landscape is further enriched by forests that play a significant role, hosting diverse ecosystems, wildlife, birds, insects, water sources, streams, and rivers. In this natural setting, humans coexist with the mountains, cultivating the land, and raising animals in open fields.

The surround recording rig was placed at various locations during both day and night, capturing the beautiful nature. The recordings also feature wildlife, with birdsong and insect chirping filling the sound spectrum extensively.

Throughout this extensive recording journey, various weather changes, including hot and sunny days, rainy days, and even thunderstorms, were recorded. The collection encompasses all aspects of farmland activity, including tractor sounds and human activity, providing an immersive experience of the agricultural and rural world.
