THE AUDIO FIELD PROJECT
In the Beginning
I began my journey in sound as a sound recordist and sound editor on various shoots, including short films, commercials, and documentaries. I gained a deeper understanding of sound editing by working on the short film projects where I had done the sound recording. It was precisely during sound editing, while listening to my rushes, that it became clear to me that I needed to record sound material to bring images to life and illustrate the narrative. So, I started practicing field recording to collect sounds for editing purposes. Initially, I wasn’t as equipped as I am now. Like many others, I began with limited technical resources. Only over time and through persistent effort I was able to gradually acquire equipment and assemble a kit that met most of my needs.
My Practice Today
Today, my practice in sound has evolved. I still work as a sound recordist on various formats (short films, commercials, documentaries) and in sound editing, and my field recording practice has been transformed. Over the years and through various projects, my experience in sound recording has significantly developed. The Audio Field project is part of my sound practice today. This project is entirely artisanal, from the website structure to the graphics, and of course the sounds. From the preparation of recording sessions to the final upload on the server, everything is done by myself, which explains the project’s gradual development.

The Importance of Surround Sound
From the start, I have been drawn to immersive formats, recognizing their current relevance and their ability to offer richer sound experiences compared to stereo. I discovered surround sound by practicing in the field, which opened up a new world for me. I began with the 5.0 surround format and my experience has expanded to various immersive formats (native binaural, Atmos, Ambisonic).
Philosophy
On this site, I offer meticulously recorded and organized sounds, crafted with passion, aiming to deliver the best to sound enthusiasts and curious visitors. The metadata is provided with transparency and with as much information as possible, to make it easy for the auditor to obtain the information he / she is looking for. Audio Field is not just an online store, I also offer technical services for sound recording and sound editing, where I invest as much passion and professionalism as I do in creating sound libraries.
