Recording StorY
If you missed your last metro, this collection is made for you !
The entirety of the Paris metro lines recorded and compiled into a single pack.
Just like the sounds from the « PARIS UNDERGOUND », it took seizing the early hours of the weekend morning to record these sounds. With the surround sound recording rig taking up a significant amount of space, I took advantage of the fact that there were almost no people in the metro to insert myself.
Not all the lines were recorded in their entirety but you’ll find in this collection the interiors of each metro line, from 1 to 14, including the 3-Bis and 7-Bis (for the experts), for a few stops, providing the necessary equipment for sound editors wishing to use these sounds.
Also, recording sequences of metro arrivals, stops, and departures at platforms.
And to complement this collection, the various openings and closings of metro doors. From the interior perspective, and exterior at the platform. Offering a unique and exhaustive sound bank.
I tried my best to obtain recordings without human voices so that sounds could be repurposed, for creation and sound design.
You’ll find in this collection the sounds of :
- Metro interior
- Metro passages from the platform’s perspective
- Opening and closing of doors from both interior and exterior perspectives
To facilitate your search, the metadata of the sounds specify if they contain the presence of voices or not, as well as human presence or not. So, you can easily find the sound you’re looking for.
It took hours spent in the field before obtaining these different sounds, battling against the numerous announcements on the platforms and in the metro, against unintended voices, and annoying human presence.
These sounds are certified without announcements, but you can find some of them isolated in another collection if needed.
