During a snowy winter, I embarked on my first expedition in challenging conditions with the spaced surround recording rig. It proved to be a demanding yet enlightening experience, providing insights into how the rig performs in extreme weather conditions.

Throughout the field recording journey, all the equipment faced the challenges of freezing temperatures and humidity. Remarkably, the 5 Sennheiser MKH 8090s performed flawlessly, demonstrating their resilience to extreme conditions.

Being on a plateau during a snowstorm posed challenges in finding the optimal recording spots. However, the surrounding forests offered essential shelter, allowing me to capture the gusts of wind sweeping through the frozen trees.

This surround sound library features recordings from :

• Snowy forests with and without birds
• Frozen watercourses
• Gusty winds from windy plateaus

These sounds were captured in a mid-mountain region, around 1500m, in central France. The Cantal region, renowned for its natural beauty, forests, gentle mountains, and picturesque plateaus, provided an ideal backdrop.

With snow blanketing the landscapes, this pack includes sound files that authentically capture the serene essence of winter.
